01
Quotations & scope of work
Our quotations are based on the information, drawings, measurements, site conditions and scope of work available at the time the quotation is prepared. The quotation should be read together with any drawings, specifications or written details supplied for the project.
Work or materials requested outside the agreed quotation may be treated as a variation and may result in an additional charge. Where practical, variations will be discussed with the client before the additional work is carried out.
02
Site conditions & access
The client should provide reasonable access to the property and working area for our team, materials, tools and agreed waste removal. The client should tell us about any known underground services, hidden structures, access restrictions or other conditions that may affect the work.
Unexpected ground conditions, concealed services, structural issues or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been identified before work began may require changes to the method, programme or cost of the work.
03
Materials & natural products
Natural materials such as timber, stone, clay products and plants can vary in colour, texture, grain, size and appearance. Timber may move, shrink, expand, split or weather naturally as environmental conditions change. These natural characteristics are not necessarily defects.
Where a specified product becomes unavailable, discontinued or subject to an unreasonable delay, we will discuss a suitable alternative with the client before substitution.
04
Programme & delays
Any proposed start date or completion period is given in good faith. Garden construction is affected by weather, site conditions, material availability, access, variations and other matters outside our reasonable control. Where these affect the programme, we will keep the client informed as reasonably practicable.
05
Payment
Payment terms are set out in the quotation, invoice or other written agreement for the project. Payments should be made in accordance with those agreed terms. Additional approved work and variations may be invoiced separately.
06
Changes, postponement & cancellation
If the client wishes to change, postpone or cancel agreed work, please contact us as early as possible. Costs already reasonably incurred for ordered materials, specialist services, booked resources or work already completed may remain payable, subject to the client’s statutory rights.
07
Completion & concerns
At completion, we ask clients to raise any concerns as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, put matters right. Nothing in these terms affects the client’s statutory rights.
