Standing water, saturated lawns and puddles around paving are usually symptoms of a wider levels or ground-water problem. A good drainage system starts by understanding where the water comes from and where it can safely go.
We install French drains, land drains, channel drainage and soakaway solutions as part of new landscaping or to improve existing gardens. Where appropriate, we also construct permeable bases that allow surface water to drain through the build-up rather than collecting on the finished surface. The right approach depends on soil, levels, nearby buildings, access and the available discharge route.
Falls and finished levels are planned together with paving, lawns, beds and structures so the drainage works with the garden rather than being added as an afterthought.
Below ground, correct pipe gradients, clean stone, membranes and suitable outlets matter just as much as the visible finish. Done properly, drainage protects both the garden and the investment made in it.

Why does water collect in my garden?+

Will a French drain fix a wet lawn?+
Often it can help, but only if the drain has a suitable fall and somewhere for the collected water to go. We assess levels and discharge options before recommending a system.
Can drainage be added to an existing garden?+
Yes. Drainage can be retrofitted to lawns, beds and hard-landscaped areas, although access and reinstatement requirements affect the best route and method.
